delivery volunteer questions

What areas do you deliver to? When and where do we pickup the meal kits?

  • Kapaa

    • Pick up meal kits at Crossroads Christian Fellowship between 12:30-1:30PM

  • Lihue

    • Pick up meal kits at Lihue Missionary Church between 1-1:30PM

  • Lawai

    • Pick up meal kits at Kauaʻi Bible Church between 1:45-2:15PM

I want to deliver meal kits, but I canʻt commit every week. Can I still help out when I’M available?

YES! We have a HUGE need for backup volunteers for all areas. Currently, we deliver to from Anahola-Kalaheo. While we do prefer a set volunteer weekly (this is so our kūpuna can make connections with the community and create that weekly bond with a friend), we are so grateful for anyone who is available on a case by case basis.

There are cases when we have a volunteer out of town, out because of sickness, or even out because of emergencies. When that happens, we go to our back up drivers and see who is available to deliver. If you are interested in something like this, please fill out our volunteer form and let us know that you would like to be a back up driver.

PLEASE NOTE: We have three areas that would need coverage:

Kapaa

Lihue

Koloa/Kalaheo

Please let us know which area that you would be interested in delivering for when signing up.

If I deliver, do I have to provide my own car?

Yes. Unfortunately, we do not have volunteer vehicles available but we do try to make the routes as compact as possible for all volunteers.

How long does a route take?

Typically 1 hour.

Where would I deliver?

You would deliver in whatever area you choose. If you choose to be a driver in Kapaa, we would only give you a Kapaa route. In some cases, we may ask if youʻre available for another part of the island but we would make sure to keep you on the preferred side of the island.

distribution volunteer questions

When and where can I help with packing?

Every Wednesday at Crossroads Christian Fellowship on the Kapaʻa Bypass Road between 9AM-12PM. Although weʻre there throughout that time, you do NOT have to stay for the entirety of the distribution. Weʻre grateful for any help you would like to offer!

Can my children volunteer to help pack meal kits?

Yes, we welcome volunteers of all ages. We ask that parents of children under 15 be present during the volunteer time. For children under 8, please assist your child in volunteering.

What should I wear to volunteer?

Comfortable clothing.

Do I need to bring anything to volunteer?

Nothing is needed to volunteer! We do recommend bringing water as we don't have onsite. We provide light snacks around 11am for volunteers.
